1st Birthday

While in Hawaii, we celebrated Clinton's first birthday on July 14th.  It was not a huge birthday party or anything. Just us and Kiley's new friend from the duplex next to ours. But it was just perfect. He was not sure about blowing out the candle or eating the cake at first. After his first taste he was a little more eager to eat more of it. "Square Grandpa" was serving as a high chair so that complicated matters, but you can see he eventually got some.

 I can't believe it has been over a year since he was born. He is coming in to his own little personality and it has been fun to watch. He loves to wrestle, all it takes is me laying on the floor and saying "wrestle" and he crawls over as fast as he can and starts to wrestle with me. He is pure boy, he loves to climb and play in the dirt. He is a quick learner, once he decides he wants to do something.  At his nine month check up he was not crawling or sitting up by himself, but then within a week he decided it might be a good idea and he was doing both as if he had been doing it forever.  He has six teeth now (although two molars are starting to cut through) and loves to feed himself.  In fact he can already feed himself with a fork. It is really funny to watch.

We are really lucky to have him as part of our little family and look forward to watching him continue to grow and learn.
