Following the Color Run we went with Evelyn's friend Teri and her family to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. The main attraction was that you can feed giraffes and get up close and personal. Kiley and Clinton weren't sure at first, but Kiley warmed up toward the end. So much so that we had to go back at the end of the day for some more.

| I think the enormous tongue may have been what put Clinton off of feeding the giraffes |
The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is not very large, but they do get kudos for greater interaction than usual at a zoo. Besides feeding giraffes, you can feed lorikeets, and possibly pet a wallaby. I was inches from petting one before the little boy next to me tried to kick it and it hopped off.

In addtion to the other exhibits, they have a pretty good play area for the kids. They all seemed to enjoy themselves anyway.

The only really hokie thing was the plethora of concrete animals both on display and "hidden" around the zoo pretending to be real wildlife.
